FROM THEIR WEBSITE:   This congregation was started by six families from St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church in 1993 as a mission to the people of West Houston & Katy, TX. We have completed Phase II of our building project. This comes after the completion of our first muti-purpose metal structure (phase I) on five and a half acres of land on Hammerly Road east of Beltway 8. Our new Santuary has a domed ceiling with beautiful marble floors, and altar. It gives us an enormous amount of room to grow! Our previous Sanctuary (now our Parish Hall) houses our Parish banquet hall, eight classrooms, a bookstore, bathrooms, a breakroom, a large meeting room, and the priest's office. Our congregation is made up of half "cradle" and half convert Orthodox. The ethnic mix of our parish is American, Middle Eastern, Greek and various Slavic backgrounds. Our services are all in English and we try to include a very Pan-Orthodox piety and spirituality in our practice of worship, asceticism and festivals. It is our prayer, hope and dream that we minister to all Orthodox and reach out to American seekers of the true faith of Jesus Christ, handed down by the Apostles unchanged.
